WARD, DORIS ESTELLE (McFADZEN) - The passing of Doris Estelle Ward (McFadzen) of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, August 28, 2011. Born in Fredericton NB, she was the daughter of the late Eldon McFadzen and Beatrice (Parker) Barton. An avid bowler, and active member of Sunset Church and of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, she was also a maritime fastball intermediate B ladies baseball champion from 1966 to 1968. Survived by one son Mike Ward (Patricia) of Waasis NB, two daughters Sandra and Tanya Ward both of Fredericton, grandchildren Cody, Mikaela and Brad Ward, Alisia and Tyler Barry, Zach Ward and Tara Pagani, great grandson Gavin Baird, two brothers Robert McFadzen (Francis) of Calgary Alberta, Edward McFadzen (Joanne) of Mississauga Ontario, two sisters Betty Smythe-James (Chris) of Fredericton, Debby Dunphy (Richard) of Fredericton, one step sister Ada Dyer of Fredericton, numerous nieces, nephews aunts and uncles, and closest friends Nancy, Doreen and Lewis. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by the father of her children Herbert Ward, three brothers, Gerald and Frank McFadzen, Phillip Barton, one step brother Louis Barton, one sister Helen May Paul and one step sister Donna King.
Resting at Bishop’s Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton, where visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 31st from 6 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held at Sunset Church, 429 Clements Drive (off the ring Road) on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2 PM with Rev. Joe Beesley officiating assisted by Rev. Richard Bragdon. Interment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery.
