MITCHELL - Melveen Dianne
On Saturday August 20, 2011, Melveen Mitchell with her children by her side, was rewarded her wings and entered Heaven to be with Jesus and Everlasting Life. She left this world with true dignity and grace and made it a better place by her presence. Melveen will be sadly missed and forever lovingly remembered by her four children; Son Todd (Rebecca), Grandson Matthew; Son Craig, Grandsons Joey (Kara) and Staven; Son Scott, Grandchildren Alex, Tristan, Wyatt and Hunter; Daughter Leslie Wittmier (Shane) Grandsons Braden and Aaron. She was also Great Nan to her Great Grandsons Ayen and Grey (Joey). She is also sadly mourned by her close friends Dianne and Arnold Tonnies and many others who had the privilege of knowing her. Melveen was predeceased by her Parents Robert McConeghy, Doreen Wilson and Step Father Jim Wilson as well as her beloved brother Bobby. She was born May 7, 1946 in Dauphin, Manitoba. Melveen, having lived in Brandon, MB., Vancouver, B.C, and Medicine Hat, AB. spent most of her life in Swift Current. Melveen loved being a Mother and Nan and felt there was no greater role than quietly teaching and influencing others through her love and devotion. She worked for many years at the Swift Current Safe Shelter using these same gifts to help many women and children. She will be missed by many. In keeping with her love of children, donations in her memory can be made to the Swift Current Safe Shelter or World Vision. A gathering to celebrate Melveen's life will be held at a later date.
