CAPSON, NELSON GORDON GEORGE - Nelson Gordon George Capson “Whip”, born November 17, 1941 – died, August 30, 2011. Beloved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia (Johnson); daughter and son-in-law, Natalie Capson-Daniels and Brad Daniels and his cherished grandchildren, Aidan and Claire Capson-Daniels; his special cousin, Barbara (Bowes) and her husband Al Dobbelsteyn; mother-in-law, Bernetta Johnson; sister-in-law, Elaine Shanks and her children, Adam Johnson (Angie Murphy), Stephen Johnson (Sophia); brother, Harold Capson (Verna) of London, ON and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Mary (Morton) Capson; brothers, Ralph and Louis; sister, Bonnie; brother-in-law, Jim Johnson and father-in-law, Edmund Johnson. Nelson was a devoted husband, father and grandfather with a great love of family. He was an artist who enjoyed painting and drawing. He was a jack-of-all-trades and loved the challenge of repairing anything in need of fixing. Nelson was a lover of nature and history. He had a great love of antique vehicles and enjoyed working on old cars – most recently his 1983 Mustang.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, September 01, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 02, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. David Brewer officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery.
