COLPITTS, Clayton A. – 103, of Fox River, Cumberland Co. passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 at home. Born in Diligent River, he was a son of the late Burpee and Carrie (Yorke) Colpitts. Clayton loved nature. He enjoyed doing bird carvings, painting country and nautical scenes, and has published two books of original poems. He enjoyed playing bridge or a rousing game of crib. He is survived by daughters, Gayle Shaw (Terry), Port Greville; Judy Wheaton (George), Fox River; Shirley Kuryluk (Michael), Middle Sackville; a sister, Josie Milton, Bridgewater; brother, Ronald Colpitts (Mary), Diligent River; sister-in-law, Barbara Bishop, Okatoks, Alta.; brother-in-law, Keith Graham (Norma), Fox River; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, the former Jessie Graham; a sister, Lola; brothers, Vaughan, Arthur, William, Kenneth, Aubrey, Glenford, Cecil, Paul, Arlie and George. Funeral service in celebration of Clayton’s life will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Grace United Church, Port Greville, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial to follow in the Grace United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace United Church or to a charity of choice.
