Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, of Edward Jones Wood, Charlottetown, formerly of Pownal and Kinloch, in his 96th year.
Son of the late William and Jean (Jones) Wood. Dear husband of Kallie (Downe Hermann). Cherished father of his daughters Evelyn (Fred) Jenkins, Millview, and Bonnie (Frank) Dewar, Vernon Bridge; and his stepdaughters Ferne (Murray) Stevenson, Stanhope, and Gayle (Myron) MacDonald, Covehead. Proud Grampie to his grandchildren, Heather (Al) MacKinnon, Jeff (Cindy) Jenkins and Emily Dewar and to his step-grandchildren, John (Cheryl) Stevenson, Cathy (Rick) Chadwick, Susan (Larry Currie), Leigha (Kerwin) Brown and Franklin (Peggy) MacDonald. Also survived by his great-grandchildren: Tyler Edward and Nicole Jenkins; Hunter and Jordan MacKinnon; Kirk, Scott and Brittney Brown; Jackson and Jenna MacDonald: Kyla and Kristyn Chadwick; Stuart Stevenson and Sabrina (Colin) Goertzen. Predeceased by his first wife, Etta Ross, and by his sisters Frances (Jack) MacRae and Bertha (Harvey) Jenkins.
Resting at the Belvedere Funeral Home with visiting hours on Friday 6-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Vernon Bridge, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Interment in Pownal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation or the Pownal United Church Cemetery Fund.
