CROSBY, William M. (Bing), retired Captain RCAF/CF passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loving family, on Friday August 26th in his 79th year. Born in Lake Annis, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Merle and Mae Crosby and stepson of Ada (Sweeney). Bing is survived by his loving wife and best friend Joy (Dauncey), dear father of Linda (Leo) Post of Ottawa, Deborah Crosby of Carmacks,Yukon Territory, Gary (Marie) Crosby of Wainwright, Alberta and Wanda Dawson of Ajax. He will be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren Tim, Meghann, Daniel, Mathiew, Bria, Lisa, Joe, Tasha and Dave, his three great-grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Survived by his sister Pauline (Sonny) Horton of Brenton Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his brothers, Arthur and Arnold Crosby. Bing spent 36 years in the RCAF/CF, flying as a Flight Engineer on 5 types of aircraft, working his way through the ranks and retiring in 1985. After retirement from the CF, he flew for another 6 years on Lockheed Electra’s with Northwest Territorial Airways out of Yellowknife, finally retiring in 1991. Friends were invited to gather at Weaver Family Funeral Home – West Chapel, 170 Dundas St. West, Trenton on Saturday September 3, 2011 from 7-9 PM. Memorial Service was held at Grace United Church, Trenton on Sunday, September 4 at 3 PM. Reverend Timothy Hayward officiated. Inurnment St. George’s cemetery.
