ADAMS, Harlan Donaldson - 88, of Steam Mill, Kings County, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Steam Mill, he was a son of the late George and Bessie (Rafuse) Adams. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, a Veteran of the Nova Scotia Sanitarium Fire Department, an Honourary Member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department and a member of A.A. He is survived by his wife, the former Bessie Wilson; two sons, Larry (Helen), Billtown and Eric (Bonney), Victoria, British Columbia; half sisters, Pauline, Linda and Marianne; half brothers, Joseph, Franklin, Brian and Bruce; three grandchildren, Sarah, Christine and Melissa; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce; brothers, Shirley and Garnet; half sisters, Ruth, Blossom and Kathleen; half brothers, James, William, Paul and Bob. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011 with a Royal Canadian Legion Service was held at 7:00 p.m. in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, Reverend Rob Heffernan officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
