It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Michael Schofield on Tuesday Aug. 30, 2011. Brian was 34.
Born in Sydney Mines on June 2, 1977, he was the son of Harold ‘Tubby’ and Bernadette (Hall) Schofield. Brian lived in Sydney Mines all his life and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish.
Besides his parents, Brian is survived by his sister, Joanne (Kenny) Fraser; his nephew, Mitchell and his niece, Kate, who he loved dearly and who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Brian was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Roseann Hall and his paternal grandparents, Hughie and Hazel Schofield.
In honouring Brian’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Immaculate Conception Church, Convent Street, Sydney Mines, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating.
Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
