It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest (Ernie) O’Brien, age 85 years, in the presence of his loving family at the Health Sciences Centre on October 8, 2009. Predeceased by his beloved son Terry in 1999, his mother and father Catherine and Steven, four brothers Michael, Leonard, Alfie and Willie, three sisters Sadie, Essie and Patricia. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, two sons: Lenny (Colleen), Mark; three daughters: Bernadette, Tina, Pam (Stevie); grandchildren: Jody (Melissa), Jennifer (Mike), Stephanie (Jake), Holly, Justin, Tyler, Brendan and four great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Alex, Griffin and Hudson. He will be greatly missed by his great pal Pudgie! Also leaving to mourn his sad loss his sister Grace Stone, as well as his nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls, Friday, October 9, 2 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, October 10, 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral service on Sunday, October 11th at 3 p.m. from Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Cape Broyle. Interment to follow at Our Lady of The Cape R.C. Cemetery, Cape Broyle. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the Dialysis Unit, Waterford Hospital Site.
