SMITH, MELVIN "MEL" ARTHUR - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Melvin "Mel" Arthur Smith, husband of the late Corene M. (Dobson) Smith on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Melvin was born on February 23, 1931 in Middle Sackville, NB to the late Walter and Myrtle (Anderson) Smith.
Melvin was a store manager, then industrial salesman with Crane Canada for 38 years until his retirement in 1992. He is survived by his three children, Wade Smith (Catherine), Kerry Smith and Jeffrey Smith; two grandchildren, Alison and Neil; two sisters, Olga Jones and Jean Reynolds; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Melvin was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
Although there will be no visitation or service by his request, a Private Graveside Ceremony will be held at Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
