MILLER - Delbert James, passed away October 6, 2009 in Paddockwood, SK at the age 61 years. He was born on October 25, 1947 in Shellbrook, SK. Delbert began working at an early age which prevented him from attending much school. â€Del†worked hard all his life putting in many grueling hours, but this was when he was happiest. He loved and took pride in his job as a hot tar roofer. When his health prevented him from working the smell of tar had him driving around to find the job site. Del later managed apartment buildings for 4 years throughout Edmonton, AB. Until once again his health prevented even that. His last few years he had tried to locate and continue family relationships. He found pure joy and happiness while in the company of his special little grandson, Chase Ross. Delbert is survived by his best friend, companion, and caregiver Ethel Carpenter; his step daughter and son-in-law Tina Vermette and Brian Gamble; his daughter Angela Carpenter; his step son Gordon Carpenter; his very special grandson Chase Ross; his grandchildren Ryan, Chris, Ashley, and Brandon Kereluk; his great grandson Julian Kereluk; his special cousins Betty (Stene) Horan of Prince Albert, SK, Marlene Horan of Prince Albert, SK, Mervin & Ieleen Horan of Surrey, BC, John & Vi Horan of Langley, BC, Arnold & Janet Horan of Langley, BC, Bob & Ieleen (Horan) Atkinson of Lanark, ON, Leslie & Barbara Miller of White Star, SK; as well as other cousins; his niece Loretta (Dale) Goings; his nephew Jim Petterson; his special friends Brian & Joanne Jewitt of Shellbrook, SK; as well as other nieces and nephews. Delbert was predeceased by his mother Vera (nee Horan) Miller; his father William Miller; his grandmother Rosie; grandfather Sam; his sisters Bernice (nee Miller) Petterson and Norma (nee Miller) Hansen; his brother Clifford Miller; his cousins Orville Horan and Wesley Miller; his uncle Anthony (Lottie) Miller. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 10:30 am in Northern Funeral Service – MacKenzie Chapel, 130, 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK.
