Peacefully at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, with her family by her side, of Margaret “Fern” Rochford of Alberton, age 86 years. Beloved wife of the late John R. Rochford. Born in O’Leary on March 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Annie Laura (nee Woods) Easter. Loving mother to Gary and Beverley of Alberton; Shane and Nancy of Summerside; Kevin and Donna of Cascumpec; Kelly of Alberton; Randy and Tammy of Alberton. She will be sadly missed by her 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pam (late Keir) Easter of O’Leary and by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John R. in 1998, son Pat and his wife Mary in 2006, and by siblings: Gladys Foley, John Easter, George Easter, Greta MacPhee, Charles Easter, Annie Howatt, Geniva Hennigar, Genneta MacAusland, Keir Easter, Cyril Easter, Laura Gard, Vivian Batt. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday morning Sept. 7, from the Gordon Memorial United Church, Alberton, at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Pam Reidpath officiating. Interment to follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the QEH oncology unit or West Prince Hospice would be gratefully appreciated.
