On August 31, 2011 Mrs. Avis Mae Berry passed away peacefully at The Hamlets in Westsyde, Kamloops, BC at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter Lynn (Peter) Townshend of Rollo Bay, PEI and son Jeff (Heather) Berry of Kamloops; five grandchildren Ryan, Rebecca, Jillian of PEI, Raymond and Gavin of Kamloops and two great grandchildren Adele and Madeline of Charlottetown, PEI.
Also left to cherish her memory are her brother Bob (Pat) Taylor of Kamloops and sisters-in-law Doreen Taylor of Saskatoon and Isabel Taylor of Dawson Creek.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Berry in 2003.
Avis was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the only daughter in a family of four children. She raised two children during a military career that took the family across Canada and with husband Fred around the world on numerous foreign postings. Avis enjoyed sewing and home making and in earlier years was an accomplished curler, bowler and softball player. She had a lifelong passion for crosswords and was an avid reader. Avis was a realtor in Kamloops before retiring in 1988.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Schoening Funeral Chapel with Pastor Don Maione officiating. Interment of her cremated remains will follow at the Gateway Cremation Garden, Hillside Cemetery, Kamloops. All are invited to attend a reception in the garden at 1209 Hook Road.
