Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in her 87th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Alphonso; parents John and Caroline Laing; sisters: Violet, Mary and Leona; brothers: Edgar, John, Harvey and Russell; brothers-in-law: Harold and Clayton; sisters-in-law: Mamie and Miloetta. She leaves to mourn sister Alma Reid, Norris Point; sisters-in-law: Helena (Donald Gueran), Ontario; Maida Penney, Ontario; Ella Forstyhe, British Columbia; brothers-in-law: Eric (Faye) Hale, Comfort Cove-Newstead; Major Maxwell (Anne) Hale, Ontario; Neil (Leslie) Hale, Ontario and a large circle of nephews and nieces and friends. The funeral service was held from Bethel United Church in Comfort Cove-Newstead, Wednesday, October 7th at 2 p.m., Rev. Robbins officiating. Interment in the United Cemetery, Comfort Cove-Newstead, in family plot. Flowers or donations to the United Church Cemetery Fund, Comfort-Cove-Newstead will be gratefully accepted.
