It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lewis Green, CD2, Chief Warrant Officier, retired, of Summerside, P.E.I., on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in English Harbour West, N.L., he was a son of the late John and Esther (Barnes) Green.
Lewis joined the RCAF in 1952 and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 after 35 years of dedicated service.
Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his children, Barbara (Jim) McCunn, Dartmouth, Linda (Mike) Murray, Winnipeg, Cynthia Green (Chuck Landry), Summerside, Steven Green (Carol Gibbs), Tavistock, Ont.; grandchildren, Heather (Kyle), Cathey (James), Stephannie (Jason), Allison (Warren), Luke and Josh, great-granddaughters, Hannah, McKinna, Emily and Rebecca; his brother, Ronald (Lorraine) Green, North Sydney; his sister, Ella Methvin, Auburndale, Fla.
Lewis was predeceased by his wife, Jean (Gillard) Green, brothers, Angus, Tom and Roy Green and his sister, Frances Green.
No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with Rev. Gloria McClure-Fraser officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
Memorial donations may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
