Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, of Lewis Green, CD2, Chief Warrant Officer, retired, of Summerside, aged 79 years. Born in English Harbour West, NL, he was the son of the late John and Esther (Barnes) Green. Lewis joined the RCAF in 1952, and retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1987 after 35 years of dedicated service. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, survived by his children Barbara (Jim) McCunn, Dartmouth, N.S.; Linda (Mike) Murray, Winnipeg, Man.; Cynthia Green (Chuck Landry), Summerside; Steven Green (Carol Gibbs), Tavistock, Ont.; grandchildren Heather (Kyle), Cathey (James), Stephannie (Jason), Allison (Warren), Luke, and Josh; great-granddaughters Hannah, McKinna, Emily and Rebecca; brother Ronald (Lorraine) Green, North Sydney, N.S.; and by his sister Ella Methvin, Auburndale, Fla. Predeceased by his wife Jean (Gillard) Green; brothers Angus, Tom and Roy Green; and by a sister Frances Green. A service will be held on Friday at W.J. Dooley Funeral Service Ltd., North Sydney, N.S. Interment in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney. No visiting hours by family request. Memorial donations to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside.
