Sutherland, Margaret B. – 89, Brookfield, passed away on September 8, 2011, surrounded by her family in the Cedarstone Enhanced Care Facility, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late James and Sadie Johnston. An adherent of the Brookfield Baptist Church, Margaret was involved with the W.M.S., the Ladies Circle and quilting with the Senior Citizens Group. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Fallon, Ottawa, Ontario; Karen (Fred) Davis, Ottawa, Ontario; Richard (Ellen) Sutherland, Brookfield; Charlene (Art) Fraser, Kelowna, B.C.; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; half-sister, June (Howard) Jordan; sister-in-law, Evelyn Johnston; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Merle Hamilton (1945) and Charles Sutherland, her husband of 50 years (1997); son-in-law, Bernard Fallon (2009); brothers, Wilbur and Arnold; sister, Verna; half-sister, Jean. The family is very grateful to the staff of Cedarstone, especially to her personal caregivers, who treated her with so much dignity and compassion. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11th from 7 to 9pm with funeral service on Monday, September 12th at 11am, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Rev. Frank Locke officiating. Interment in the Brookfield Westside Cemetery.
