COLWELL, HELEN M. - It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Helen Mary (Levigne) Colwell of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Walter Colwell, occurred on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Bathurst, NB, on September 21, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Sam and Ethel Levigne (King). Helen was an avid bingo player , loved to dance, she also enjoyed fishing. She is survived by four sons, Kenny (Judy) Colwell of Saint John, and Ricky Colwell of Toronto; George (Colleen) Hammond of Dominican Republic, and Eugene Hammond of Saint John; two step-sons , Edward (Sheila) Colwell, Walter (Rose) Colwell, three daughters: Linda (Romeo) Despres, Judy (Louis) Despres and Debbie Colwell all of Saint John; ten grandchildren: Rick, Rob, Janet, Kenny, Lee, Billy, Cara, Laura, Georgia, Jennifer and Robbie; two great-grandchildren: Kristin and Hailey. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by brothers, Reg,Orel and sister, Annie, and Muriel.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, September 12, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
