Doris Brownell Chapman, age 90, of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 7, 2009 while surrounded by the comfort of her family at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Baie Verte, she was a daughter of the late Dixon and Greta (Brownell) Goodwin.
Doris was a member of the Tidnish Bridge United Church, as well as the Baie Verte Senior Citizens. She was formerly employed with the Village Pharmacy for 19 years.
She will be sadly missed by sons, John (Helen), James (Gail) and Gerry, all of Baie Verte, Allison (Marsha) of Edmonton, AB; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a brother WIlliam Goodwin of Baie Verte.
She was predeceased by her husband Claude; foster son Ken; brother Roger; and sister Ruth.
Arrangements were entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (538 2241), from where visiting hours took place on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service was held from the St. James United Church, Baie Verte on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 2 p.m., Rev. Dr. James Shaffner officiating. Burial followed in the Lorneville Cemetery.
