Henry Seward Johnson, age 96, of Sackville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his home while surrounded by his family.
Born in Westcock, in 1912, he was a son of the late Seward and Mary (Clarke) Johnson.
Henry loved bowling, was a life member of the Sackville Golf Club and was an honorary member of the Tantramar Twirlers Square Dance Club.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Nellie Johnson, Sackville; three sons, Stanley (Sandra), Sackville, Allan (Doreen), Sackville, Henry Jr. (Sharon), Ancaster, ON; two daughters, Dianna Hunter (Douglas), Stoney Creek, ON, Betty Sprague (Leslie), Dartmouth, NS; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was predeceased by six brothers, Herbert, Johnny, Norman, Donald, Medley, Bill; six sisters, Lena Snowdon, Dora Crossman, Aida Moriarty, Ethel Moore, Louise Wry and Pearl Johnson.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours took place on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 2 p.m., Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Burial followed in the Sackville Cemetery.
