DOUTHWRIGHT, ARTHUR - Arthur “Art” Melburn Douthwright, 85, of Petitcodiac, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on September 13, 2011. Born in Petitcodiac, he was a son of the late Bruce and Augusta Douthwright. Art worked at Fawcett's Lumber, and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 41, Petitcodiac. Art is survived by his wife, Marjorie (nee Grant); his sister, Ann Matthews of Summerside, PE; his brother, Gorham Douthwright of Moncton, NB; his step-grandchildren: Katherine Cannell and John Cyril Cannell; as well as by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his step-son, John Cannell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 15, from 7 to 9pm; the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 41 will be holding a tribute service on Thursday evening at 6:45 pm, all in Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. A Celebration of Art's Life will be held on Friday, September 16 at 11am at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
