The family of the late Mary MacDonald would like to extend our gratitude to the many people who have supported us over the past few weeks with their many acts of kindness, phone messages and cards of sympathy. To the many people who came to be with us at the funeral home, we thank you and appreciate your support. We would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Co. Memorial Hospital and Dr. Chow for the wonderful care that
Mary received from them during her stay. As well, we would like to thank the staff of the
Alderwood Guest home for the care and kindness shown to Mary during her residency
and to Jean Stevens for the care provided to Mary prior to her residency at Alderwood.
Special thanks to Fr. Paul Abbass and concelebrants, Fr. Charles Donovan and Fr. Hugh
MacNeil for a Mass of Christian Burial. Thank you to the pallbearers, Jackie Mac
Donald, Gordon Mac Donald, Bobby Mac Donald, Vince MacLean (MacKay’s Point.),
Elwin MacNeil and Peter Morrison. For those who participated in the Mass, Vince
MacLean (East Bay), David Brister and Neil Morrison as well as the Ecumenical Choir
present for the celebration at St Michael’s Parish, a special thank you. We are truly
grateful to the Ladies of St. Michael’s Parish for the wonderful reception that followed
the Mass. We gratefully acknowledge the Staff of MacAskill’s Funeral home in Baddeck
for their compassion and dignity throughout. Finally, thank you to Bernie MacDonald
and Vince MacLean (MacKay’s Point.), for their help behind the scenes. The support that
has been shown to us all was a great tribute to Mary for the kindness she bestowed on her
family and her community.
