February 27, 1948 - September 12, 2011

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gail Stewart on September 12, 2011 at Kamloops Hospice. She was 64 years old.

Gail was truly loved and will be deeply missed by husband John, children: Jamie (Becky), Lindsay (Mark), Wade (Emmalene) and Carla; grandchildren: Jacob, Riley, Ryen, Hayden and Callum; as well as her extended family and friends.

Gail was born in Cumberland, BC and spent her childhood on Vancouver Island and in Vancouver. She met John in 1975 and moved to Kamloops where she married, raised her children and helped found Stewart Mortgage, the family business. Gail was a warm, lovely person with a great sense of humour. She was full of kindness, devoted to her family and will be remembered for her strength and generosity.

A Celebration of Gail's Life for family and close friends will follow October 1, 2011.

The Stewart family would like to thank the incredible nurses and staff at Kamloops Hospice who took such good care of Gail and our family in her last weeks, as well as the nursing staff on 6South at RIH, who went above and beyond to make her comfortable in her last month prior to hospice. In addition, family doctor Bruce Newmarch and Dr. David Petrik at BC Cancer Agency provided Gail with exceptional care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Hospice, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S., Kamloops, V2E 2S9 in Gail's memory would be appreciated.
