Doreen Keech was born in Dawson Creek and raised in Sunrise Valley in a large farming family of ten brothers and sisters. She lived in Dawson Creek for 30 years before moving to Edmonton, Alberta. Doreen had an unwavering love for children and family.
Her generosity and kindness will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Doreen passed away peacefully at the age of 69 after a courageous struggle with cancer.
She leaves behind six children Lynn (Gary) Noel, Lyle (Ella) Hall, Jim Hall, Janet Hall, Diane (Kelsey) Kisiloski, Rosanne (Jan) Tollenaar, nine grandchildren Stephen, Shawn, Jorden, Jaycy, Kaitlen, Kody, Kole, Alana, Luke, stepson Bruce (Sandy) Keech and family, and loving friend Wally Porfon.
Doreen will be remembered by her siblings Jack (Eunice) Dilworth, Jean (Gordon) Young, Eileen Beloud, Bob (Maxine) Dilworth, Dorothy (Rene) Cote, George (Sharon) Dilworth, Denise (Jim) Jackson, Dennis Dilworth, Pat (Ron) Hamm, their families and many other relatives and friends in BC and Saskatchewan.
Doreen is predeceased by her mother and father, Lily and Ernest Dilworth, husband Allan Keech, first husband Bill Hall, and brother Richard Dilworth.
A Celebration of Doreen’s Life was held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calder Seniors Drop-In Centre in Edmonton, AB.
