Pat Morrison passed away in Calgary, AB, October 30, 2010. She was born June 30, 1940 to Richard and Mabel O’Neil, in Kuskanook, BC being the sixth of nine children. Pat grew up along the shores of beautiful Kootenay Lake and helped her dad care for his horses, had her own pony at a very young age and never lost her love of horses. She gained her early education at Sirdar Elementary then onto Creston, BC where she graduated from PCSS in 1959.

Pat married Gary Leavitt and they had three daughters, Yvonne, Rachel and Adel. After leaving Creston, she lived for a short time in the Okanagan before moving to Dawson Creek. There she married Bob Morrison and had two daughters, Leah and Roberta. Pat was involved in different business ventures, including a couple restaurants and Real Estate but always kept involved with her horses. When she and Bob parted, Bill Hamilton came into her life.

In 2001, Pat returned to the Creston area to care for her mother. She remained there until 2005 when she moved to Okotoks to be closer to her daughters and families.
Pat is predeceased by both her parents, husband Bill Hamilton; son-in-law Buck Hamilton; grandson Zack Friesen; four brothers, George, Vernon, Art, Jack; sister Peggy O’Neil; niece Sandra Nelson; nephews Ric Jerome, John Katelnikoff.

She is survived by daughters Yvonne, Rachel, Adel and their families, Leah Friesen and Robbie Hamilton; granddaughters, Aleta Friesen, Brooke Hamilton; grandsons Chance and Wyatt Hamilton, Ryan Friesen, her friend and former husband, Bob Morrison, sisters Eviline Jerome, Norma Nelson, Shirley Planden; brother Kelly O’Neil; and all their respective families.

Funeral service was held November 6, 2010 at Okotoks, AB. In memory of Pat, donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association, Box 4700 Stn. S, Edmonton, AB T6E 9Z9.
