It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maurice Dodge announce his passing suddenly away at his residence on July 19, 2011 at the age of 63 years, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a true friend. Maurice was born in Femme Bay de Leau, NL. Maurice was an electrician at Stora Forest Industries for 35 years in Point Tupper, NS. He was an adherent of Black River United Church. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Florence (Kearley) Dodge, wife Annie (Parsons) Dodge, daughter Kim (Jamie) Primmer of Legal AB, grandsons Michael and Joshua, granddaughter Kearley, sisters Shirley (Reg) Hedges, and Mary Dodge of Gander, NL. Also left to mourn are his mother-in-law Betty Parsons (fondly known as “Mudder”), brothers-in-law Gary (Sandra) Parsons, Darryl Parsons, Jim Tierney, sister-in-law Maxine (Pat) Reardon, also a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father Otto Dodge, grandparents, father-in-law Max Parsons, sister-in-law Jessie Tierney, and several aunts and uncles. Funeral Service was held at Black River United Church in Nova Scotia with Reverend David Mclean officiating. Internment to take place in Mount Patricia Cemetery on September 17, 2011 at 2 P.M. with Reverend Fran Ota officiating. Arrangements are under the dignified direction of Country Haven Funeral Home. Friends and family are invited to attend the memorial service at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
