It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Nora Corline Perrins (Brownridge) of Moose Jaw at the age of 88, who passed peacefully on September 13, 2011, with her son-in-law, Pat by her side. Nora was born in Ormiston, SK to Nicholas and Clara Nelson. While living in Moose Jaw she met and married Harold Brownridge in 1941. They had three girls, Beverly, Sharon and Sheila. Nora worked at Army and Navy and Eaton’s Department Store as a Sales Clerk. In 1960 Harold passed away. Nora showed such amazing strength and courage as she continued to raise her family as a single parent. In 1965 Nora married Jim Perrins, they later moved to Prince Albert where she started her 14 year career in Real Estate. She enjoyed the cottage they purchased at Christopher Lake, knitting blankets, toques and mittens for her grandchildren, playing cards, and making lefsa, as she was very proud of her Scandinavian heritage. Nora was a longtime member of Rebekah Lodge #4, Moose Jaw, Rebekah Lodge #6, Prince Albert and was proud of being a Past Noble Grand. She was also a member of the Scandinavian Club, Cosmos Senior Centre, and St. Andrews United Church. Nora is predeceased by her parents, her infant daughter Beverly; her husband Harold in 1960; her second husband Jim in 1990; her daughter Sharon in 2004 and sister Wilma. Norma will be sadly missed by her daughter Sheila (Pat) Riley; son-in-law Gary Smith; grandchildren Corey (Louise) Riley, Kristi (Chris) Briltz, Ryan Riley (Brett Mulvey), Ken Smith, Christine (Mike) Streloff, Faith Smith; great-grandchildren Logan, Tate and Max Riley; Carter, Jake and Ava Briltz; Eli, Isaiah, Gracie and Gabrian Smith; Nicholas and Mitchell Streloff; sister Irene McLellan; brother Magnus (Sis) Nelson; two step-daughters Shirley Mitchener and Lynn Scharbuck; many nieces and nephews she loved very much, as well as numerous close friends at High Park Tower. A Celebration of Nora’s life will be held at W. J. Jones and Son Chapel on Monday September 19, 2011 at 2:30pm. Rev. Lynne Clarke will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. Memorialization will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined and those so wishing may make memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit, c/o the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, for the 455 Fairford Street E., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1H3.
