It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Daryl Laura Johnson at age 58 on September 10, 2011.

Daryl will be greatly missed by her children Darcy (Robin), Tim, and Shannon (Danny); grandchildren Logan and Dannika; father Hugh and siblings Lynn, Coleen and Laverne. Daryl also leaves numerous extended family and friends.

Daryl was predeceased by her mother Carol and brother Dale.

Daryl was born in Salmon Arm and settled in Kamloops in the late seventies. Her first love was her family and she spoiled them with love and kindness. Her positive attitude and ability to live for the day were remarkable and made the lives of everyone around her better.

Daryl was an inspiration and showed that itís possible to live well with cancer. Her five years with the disease were filled with love, compassion and a hope for the future. Her dreams were for her children, and she gave them the strength to strive for those dreams in her absence.

The family would like to thank the amazing medical practitioners that provided support during her journey, especially all of the women in the RIH cancer clinic who made her time there as happy and comfortable as possible. We saw the best of the profession and are extremely grateful for the compassion that was provided to Daryl and the family.

Cremation arrangements are being entrusted to Schoenings.

A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held on Saturday, September 24th.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation in Darylís name.
