It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of James Cull on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born in St. Johns, N.L., he was the son of the late James and Audrey (Floyd) Cull.
James enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved music, nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed taking pictures of all things that surrounded him. He was a great cook and friend. Up until Jim James’ illness his was employeed at Kenny Pizza and most recently Membertou Kiju’s Deli.
James is survived by his partner and best friend, Connie Osborne; her children, Brendan Paul, Annette Cremo (Tim) and Eldon Matthews; sisters, Elizabeth Watton (Max), St. John’s, N.L. Cathy Walsh, Cornwall, Ont., Christine Cull, British Columbia, Roseanne Wade, Kingston, Ont.; mother-in-law, Viola Paul; sisters-in-law, JoJo (Gordie), Emily, Shirley, Gloria, MaeMae, Lois (David); brothers-in-law, Jim Bob, Ike Paul (Elizabeth), Jip; extended family and best friends, Shawn O’leary (Peggy), Mary Jane Harris, Craig Farmer, Debbie DiPinto, Rick Oxley and Dr. Chris Milburn; as well as his faithful companion, J.B.
Sincerest thank you to palliative care nurses, doctors and VON team, and to special nurse Christine Jollymore.
Visitation for James began at 36 Gallagher St., Membertou on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, after 7 p.m. and will continue until funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at St. Anthony Daniel Church, with Fr. Donald MacGillivary officiating. Cremation to follow.
