Passed away peacefully, at the age of 89 years, on October 14, 2009, at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus, surrounded by her loving family.
Vonnie was the beloved wife of the late John Nicholson MacNeil ‘Johnny Dan R’ (1976). Loving mother to Lorraine MacDonald and husband Gregory, Windsor, Ian MacNeil and wife Sharon, Moose Creek, ON, Colette MacNeil, Windsor, Margaret Ann De Zan and husband Carlo, Windsor, Myron MacNeil and wife Lillian, Windsor, Blaine MacNeil, Windsor, Shaun MacNeil and wife Rosemary, Waterloo, ON. Cherished grandmother to Anna Marie, Jonathan, Ryan, Allison, Devon, Brett, Maighan and John Cameron. Great-grandmother to her beloved Karina, and Dane. Dear sister to the late Joseph Morrison and surviving wife Margaret, Huntington Beach, California, Mary Reid and husband Jack, Pontiac, Michigan, the late Louise Gushue and husband Jack, Jessie O’Keefe and husband Redmond, Sydney N.S., Carmella Osborne and her late husband Frank.
Veronica was a past president of C.W.L. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, a member of the Seniors’ Card Club at the Knights of Columbus Branch #4375 (Lauzon Rd.), and an avid Pepper player at Canadian Legion Branch #255 Riverside.
Visitation at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Road E. on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish Prayers with Rosary Friday at 8 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received for visitation on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 834 Raymo Rd. from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
