Passed peacefully away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Palliative Care Unit, Dr. Leonard A. Miller Center on Monday, September 19, 2011, Betty Lundrigan, aged 67 years. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Cecily Blackwood; sister Lorraine Moores and nephew Joshua Blackwood. Leaving to mourn devoted husband Wilfred; loving daughter Kim Bettencourt; son-in-law John; precious grandchildren: Madison and Brooklyn; brother Dwight Blackwood (Maxine); sisters: Mary Parsons (George), Vera Kavanagh (Bob – deceased), Shirley Reid (Frank), Linda MacKinnon (Bob), Bernice Blackwood (Dave), Diane Baird (Jim), Joanne Collins (Paul), Cathy Downey (Scott); brothers-in-law: Roger Moores (Jean) and Michael Lundrigan (Hazel); sister-in-law Barbara Hicks (Winston); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends including her beloved pet Nicki. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held from St. Mark’s Anglican Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
