The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton on Wednesday Sept. 21, 2011 of Henry J. Bernard of St. Louis aged 86 years. Beloved husband of Doreen Bernard. He was born in Palmer Road on March 1, 1925, the son of the late Joseph P. and Lydia Bernard. Dear father to Brenda (Gerard) Blanchard, Alberton, Richard, St. Louis and Marion LeClair (Brian), St. Louis. Loving grandfather to Joey Bernard, April Dawn Rayner, Tina Bernard, Kevin Blanchard and Randy Blanchard and great grandfather to a number of great grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Alyre (Mae) Bernard, Tignish, a sister Rita Perry (Nelson), Palmer Road, sisters-in-law Eva Bernard, Tignish and Agnes MacDonald, Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Lydia, a stillborn son, brothers Wilfred, Arthur and Emile. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road for visiting hours Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. Funeral will be held Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to the Western Hospital Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated.
