Alan passed away on September 16th, 2011 at Royal Inland Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elaine, daughter Shelley and her partner Mark Porlier, son Brent and his partner Julie Hil, and granddaughter Kassidy. He also leaves his brother Donald of Kamloops, sister's Irene (Paul) Allard and Eleanor Mclean of Dauphin, MB., and Helen (Ron) Lagimodiere of Saskatoon, SK., sisters-in-law Marianne (Ted) Harris, Irene Dorval, Diane Hudon, Carol Antifave (Paul) Morash, as well as several nieces, nephews and there families.

He was predeceased by his brothers-in-law Victor Hudon, Laurent Dorval and Garnet Mclean and sister-in-law, Margaret Van Dusen.

Alan was born on the family farm near Makinak, MB., and attended the rural Carrick School which his grandfather built and grandmother named after her hometown in Ireland. He completed his education at Brandon College and was employed in the mining industry for many years, first at Inco in Thompson, MB., and Pine Point, NWT. Alan then went to work at Potash Company of America in Patience Lake, SK. in 1965. He met and married Elaine in Saskatoon and later moved to Princeton, BC., in 1971. In August 1977, Alan moved with his family to Kamloops, BC where he worked at Afton Mines until retiring.

Alan's 'life and love' was his family and granddaughter Kassidy.

Al's relaxation was his daily exercise of walking, meeting numerous friends and acquaintances and always mentioned them upon returning home.

A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Donation in Al's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
