SAVOY, STEPHEN G. (1954-2011) - Miramichi - Stephen George Savoy, husband of Brenda Savoy, of East Point Road, Miramichi, passed away suddenly, at his residence, on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the age of 57. Born in Chatham, on January 23, 1954, he was the son of the late Dearborn and Ernestine (Roach) Savoy. He was an employee of the Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans. He is survived by his wife, the former Brenda A. Gilliss; one daughter, Elizabeth Keenan (Kenny), of Cains River; one son, Darren Savoy (Maria), of Medicine Hat, AB; two grandchildren, Becky and Savannah; one special niece, Claire; four sisters, Margaret Comeau (Roger), Karen Comeau (Ronnie), Mabel Stewart (David), all of Miramichi, Dana Mott (Earl), of Fredericton; two brothers, David Savoy (Sharon) and Billy Savoy (Jocelyn), all of Miramichi. He was predeceased by his parents.
By request, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A public funeral service will be held from the Miramichi Exhibition Building, on Sunday, September 24, 2011, at 2:30 pm, conducted by Leslie Beddoe and Linda Anderson. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi, following the funeral service and reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc., or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
