It is with immeasurable sadness that the family of Brenda June Hearn (nee Janes) announce her passing surrounded by her loving and adoring family, at her home in Topsail on September 22nd, 2011 at the age of 57 years. Brenda died as she lived her life, with selflessness, strength and dignity. Leaving to mourn with wonderful and loving memories are her husband of 31 years John Patrick Hearn; her two sons: Johnny (Katie Crocker) and Ryan; and her precious grandson Jack (Angela Meaney). Predeceased by her parents: Nelson and Pearl Janes; father and mother-in-law: John and Kathleen Hearn; brother Obie; sister Myrtle and niece Sylvia. Also left to mourn brother Jack Janes (Ingrid); special sister and caregiver Barbara Gill (Cator); brother-in-law Captain Caleb Kean; sister-in-law Ann Janes; 10 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews; along with sisters-in-law Jean Watt (Don), Mary Scaplen (Mike-deceased), Margie Clouston (Ralph) and brothers-in-law: Bill Hearn and Brian Hearn (Debbie). As well her lifelong friends, you know who you are. Brenda was a proud Newfoundland woman whose exterior beauty was surpassed only by the beauty of her soul and the most admirable of human characteristics, empathy and compassion for others. Special appreciation to all the doctors and nurses from Eastern Health and the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center who aided in Brenda’s journey. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Topsail, NL on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Topsail, NL.
