McCLOUD - Warren Orval McCloud, age 85 years of Swift Current, SK passed away peacefully, with family and friends at his side, at the Palliser Regional Care Centre, Swift Current on September 15, 2011. The funeral service was held at the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 1:30 P.M., with Captain Ed Dean of the Salvation Army officiating. The eulogist was Darren Wilms and special music was presented by Harvey Lang and Lenore Wentland. The internment service followed at the Hillcrest Cemetery. Warren is survived by his wife Pearl R. McCloud, Swift Current, SK; a sister Maud Nordahl, New Westminister, BC; a brother Paul (Joan) McCloud, Abbotsford, BC; many nieces and nephews and a special "God Child", Crystal Gates. He was predeceased by his parents: John and Annie McCloud, two brothers: George (Sylvia) and Mel (Elma); two sisters May (Joe) Monus and Del (Metro) Babiuk. Warren was born in the Maple Creek District, July 23, 1926 and attended school at Maple Creek. He was united in marriage to Pearl Vaningan in Calgary, AB on August 7,1963. The couple moved to reside in Swift Current following their marriage. Warren was employed by the City of Swift Current for 35 years before retirement. His special interests included a collection of belt buckles. He loved the Ranch and spent many hours with the pure bred herford cattle herd he cultivated. Memorial donations in his memory, to the Diabetes Association or to the Salvation Army, would be appreciated by the family.
