CORBETT, Mary Alethia – 68, East Village, passed away suddenly on October 16, 2009 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Evelyn (Bird) Adams.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church and was proud to have her brother Steve Adams as her pastor. She has many family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her husband Melvin, her children Wendy (Tony) Rushton; Truro, Wayne; East Village, Tom; East Village, Lisa (Larry); Debert, Stacy (Greg); Brentwood. Her children felt very privileged to call her “Mom.” She is also survived by her pride and joys, her grandchildren Melissa (Dave), Chris (Shellee), Amanda, Spencer, MacKenzie and Jenna, and great-grandchildren Tara and Aiden. Also surviving are sister Iris Peppard and brothers Keith (Peggy), Curtis (Marilyn), John (Colleen), Steve (Florence) and Kevin.
She was predeceased by her brother Aubrey and sister Shirley in infancy, and brother-in-law Doug Peppard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th from 7-9PM at Faith Baptist Church, Great Village. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 21st , also at Faith Baptist Church, at 1PM with reception to follow and burial later in the day.
