Helen M. MacLeod, 83 of MicMac Boulevard, Dartmouth, passed away Sept. 23, 2011, at the QE II.
She was the daughter of the late John and Tina MacVicar of Sydney.
She is survived by daughter, Ann (Alex) MacLeod, Sydney; grandchildren, Darryl (Nicole) MacLeod, Sydney, Heather MacLeod, Dartmouth; great-grandchildren, Annsonia, Declan and Rowan; sisters, Florence Aguinaga, Kanata, Ont., Marilyn Somers, Bedford; brother, John MacVicar, North Bay, Ont.; sister-in-law, Edna MacVicar, Edwardsville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by husband, Fraser in 2004 and brother, Douglas MacVicar.
Helen was a former employee at the Nova Scotia Hospital. She was a member of the Woodlawn United Church and belonged to Eastern Star, Ruth Chapter, OES, UCW Naomi Unit and IODE.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth, N.S., 461-0700, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. Rev. Valerie Kennedy officiating. Interment at a later date in Alfred Smith Memorial Cemetery, Sydney River.
