The death occurred at Perrin’s Clinton View Lodge on Saturday, October 17, 2009 of Harry Mellish, a veteran of the Second World War (RCAF), formerly of New Glasgow, age 91. Harry was the father of Ron (Marnie), Barry (Mary) and Sharon Moase (Wyman); grandfather of Steven Stairs, Carolyn Pater, Nathan Stairs and Kevin Stairs; Melissa MacKay, Michael and Jonathan Mellish; Cory and Andrew Burke; and great-grandfather of six. He is also survived by his brother, Reg; sister-in-law, Hope Matthews; and son-in-law, Darrell Stairs. Besides his wife, Annie, Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Janet Stairs, and infant daughter, Victoria. Resting at Central Queen’s Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow for visitation on Monday, October 19, 2009 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Central Queen’s Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment in Cross Roads Christian Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Harry’s memory to the Maritime Christian College or the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Memorial Fund would be appreciated.
