It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doug Dupe on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Robert and Susan (Parsons) Dupe.
Doug is survived by his sons, Ritchie (Penny) and Douglas (Noreen), both of Ontario; sisters, Beatrice (Eric) Barkhouse, Western Shore, Frances MacNeil (Sonny), Albert Bridge; brothers, Harvey (Jean) Dupe and Gordon Dupe, both of Sydney; as well as two precious grandchildren, Breanna and Brennan.
Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Knapp) Dupe, siblings, Carmella Pierre, Gerald and Bobby.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 in the chapel with Pastor Sheldon Chant officiating. Burial to follow in Loch End Cemetery, Catalone.
Donations may be made to the VON and the Cape Breton Palliative Care.
