fEHR - Anne Fehr, age 83, of Swift Current, SK passed away on Thursday Sept. 22, 2011, at the Palliser Regional Care Centre in Swift Current. Anne was predeceased by her husband, John, on Nov 5, 1997; one granddaughter in infancy; her parents; her brothers; and her sisters. Anne is survived by her five children: John (Carol) Fehr, Swift Current, SK, Bill (Judy) Fehr, Calgary, AB, Brian (Sandi) Fehr, Okotoks, AB, Lynda (Randy) Dyck, Regina, SK, Jerry (Patsy) Fehr, Saskatoon, SK; her nine grandchildren; and by her twelve great-grandchildren. Anne was born on March 24, 1928, at Wymark, SK to Diedrich & Margaret Wiens. Anne married John Fehr on October 3, 1943, and lived in Swift Current prior to moving to a farm at Gretna, MB for a brief time. They returned to Swift Current until their move in 1965, to a small farm at Rhineland, SK. Anne moved to the Prairie View Lodge in 1998. Due to failing health, she moved to the Herbert Nursing Home in March 2009, and then returned to Swift Current and was a patient at the Palliser Regional Care Centre from Oct. 2009, until her passing. Anne derived satisfaction through gardening, baking, cooking, canning, housekeeping, and guests. Anne took pride in her home and delighted in providing meals to family and friends. These activities were missed after moving off the farm. Her residency at the Prairie View Lodge gave her many opportunities to share meals with her close neighbours. She enjoyed having coffee with visitors and her many caregivers. A long awaited time of peace is now her reward. The Funeral Service was held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the Christian Fellowship Church, Rhineland, SK with Pastor Alvin Buhler officiating. The pianist for the service was Beatrice Peters. “How Great Thou Art” and “What a Friend We Have In Jesus” were sung by the congregation under the direction of Luanne Schultz. Verna Buhler read the obituary and special music was brought by Luanne Schultz singing, “On the Wings of a Snow White Dove”. The usher in the church was Harry Friesen. A Private Family Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK. For those wishing, donations to the Rhineland Christian Fellowship Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements were in care of the Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
