BLANCHARD, FERDINAND - 1921 - 2011 - Ferdinand Blanchard, 90 of Foyer Saint-Antoine and formerly of Sainte-Anne de Kent passed away at the Foyer on Wednesday September 28, 2011. He was married to Edna (Richard) Blanchard. Born in Rogersville on April 14, 1921 he was the son of the late John and the late Annie (Boisvert) Blanchard. Ferdinand was a WW 11 veteran, member of the Carleton and York Regiment, he served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe from 1940 to 1945. He will be sadly missed by his wife Edna; his five daughters, Blanche Robichaud (Léo Richard) of Rexton, Annie Caissie (Edgar) of Cote Sainte-Anne, Francine Doiron (Ovile) of Hubbardston, Mass, Dorice Tourigny (Vernon ) of Palm Bay, Fl, Gisèle Saindon (André) of Moncton, his two sons; Ferdinand (Freddie) (Félice) of Saint-Edouard, Gérard of Cocagne, his two sisters; Emma Savoie of Neguac, Jeanne MacNeil of Grimsby On; his four half sisters, Patricia Blanchard (Marc Beaudoin) of Dieppe, Claire McGrath (Lawrence) of Quispamsis, Terry Gignac (Mike) of Calgary, Valerie Kim (Raymond) of Calgary,his brother Jack Blanchard (Monique) of Loretteville, Québec, his four half brothers; Basil (Kathy) of Miramichi, Thomas of Moncton, Robert (Robyn) of Richmond , BC, Vincent (Wendy) of Lower Sackville, NS, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Ferdinand was predeceased by one sister Yolande and two brothers Ronald and Charlie.
Visitations will be held at the Sainte-Anne Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Sainte-Anne on Friday September 30, 2011 from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45. Funeral Mass will be held at the Sainte-Anne Church on Saturday October 1, 2011 at 11:00am with interment in the parish cemetery. In Ferdinand's memory donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of NB.
