Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Health Science Centre on September 28, 2011, Georgina Nixon (nee Barnes), aged 81 years. Leaving with cherished memories, her loving husband of 59 years Campbell Nixon; two daughters: Debbie (Cecil) Martin and Janet (Wayne) Walsh; one son: David Nixon (Darlene Martin); 10 precious grandchildren: Kelly (Scotty), Chris, Kim, Tina (Jeremy), Matthew, Cameron, Abigail, Louise (Don), Donnie (Cavell) and Kirby; also leaving eight great-grandchildren whom she adored. Survived by one brother Duncan along with a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 1045 Topsail Road, Mt. Pearl on Friday, September 30, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church (Topsail) on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery.
