It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our husband and father, Daniel Alexander McCormick on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Daniel and Annie (McNeil) McCormick.
Dan was a carpenter by trade and a member of carpenters union local 1588.
Dan is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diane (Boutilier); his daughters Marie (Hector) McNeil, Gardiner Mines, Donna (Tony) Gniewek, Tanglewood and Danette McIntyre, Sydney and three grandchildren, Holly, Daniel and Angus; his sisters, Jean MacDougall, Howie Centre, Frances (Ray) MacIsaac, Whitney Pier and Helen (Jack) Pearson, Sydney, Mother-in-law Marie Boutilier, Glace Bay and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by his brothers Charles (Gib) and Michael and sister Blanche in infancy; grandson Paul McNeil and brother-in-law Edward MacDougall.
Visitation of the late Daniel McCormick will be held at Curry's Funeral home, Main Street Glace Bay on Sunday, Oct. 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 3rd, at 11a.m. at Immaculate Conception church, Bridgeport with Rev. Boudreau officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
