It is with great sadness that Bill passed away peacefully on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 64. He is survived by the love of his life of 32 years Wendy (Svendsen); his children Kerry, Justin and Melanie (Cam) Harms; his precious granddaughters Madison, Chloe and Mya; his mother Ethel Demerais, his siblings Fay (Dennis) Leonard, Ken (Mavis), Dennis, Clive, Maureen (Ken) Konkin, Doug (Linda), George (Margaret), Elaine (Gordon) Walker, Sid (Beatrice), Verla (Vern) Becker, Lyle (Angela), Lisa; his mother-in-law Karla Svendsen; Wendy’s siblings Alfred (Helen), Robert (Carol), David, Roland (Monica), Carole (Larry) Peterson, Ivan (Marylie), Karen (Tom) Lloyd, Colin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Bill was predeceased by his father Louis Demerais; father-in-law Georg Svendsen and nephews Kevin Svendsen, Nathan Svendsen and Daniel Hope. Bill loved to play and watch sports of all kinds and was an active member of the P.A. Legion, Metis Local 269 and the Elks. He worked with the Sask. Wheat Pool alongside his dad and some of his brothers. In the mid 60’s he went to work at the PA Correctional Center where he found his true calling as the Aboriginal Liason. When he retired he had served 35½ years. He loved spending all of his spare time with his beautiful grandbabies. Donations in Bill’s memory may be made to a charity of donor’s choice. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22 from St. Alban’s Cathedral –1410 Bishop McLean Crescent. Reverend David Smith will officiate. Interment of cremated remain will take place in the Garden of the Old Rugged Cross, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
