It is with great sadness that we, the family of Jeanette (Voyez) Dawe announce her passing on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at the Glace Bay Health Care Facility.
Born in Bordeaux, France, she was the eldest daughter of the late John and Ernestine (Roussel) Voyez of Birch Grove.
She will be remembered for teaching conversational French classes in Glace Bay to young and old alike, which she enjoyed very much. She enjoyed gardening and going fishing.
Jeanette is survived by her sons, Earl, Glace Bay, Allister Boutilier, Ontario; daughter, Della (Gary) Comer, Dominion; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Marie, Lochaber, Antigonish; numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl, brothers, Marcel and Henry.
In honoring Jeanette’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Interment will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 at St. Mary’s Church, Port Morien. Fr. Conrad Edwards will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeanette’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
