The death occurred at the Prince Edward Home on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, of Mary Josephine “Josie” MacLean, age 84 years. Widow of the late George Kenneth “Kenny” MacLean of 12 Spring St., Charlottetown.
Born in St. Andrews, P.E.I., March 19, 1927, Josie was the daughter of Martin Peter and Johanna Matilda (Scully) Thomas and was the last of her immediate family. She will be sorely missed and mourned by her sons, Joey (Marlene) of Lennox Island, Willie (Karen), Don and Greg of Charlottetown. She also leaves to mourn numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home for visitation on Monday, October 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. would be appreciated.
