Slipped away after a brief struggle with cancer. Jamie was the son of Kenneth and Dorothy Graham, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Jamie is survived by his mother, sister Irene (Tom Rose) and brothers Glen (Dorothy) and Robert as well as four nephews, two nieces and five great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father.
Educated at the University of Prince of Wales College (UPEI), Dalhousie University and University of Toronto, Jamie had a long career as a teacher with the York Region District School Board teaching at Bayview and Thornhill Secondary Schools. His great love was the theatre and his annual production of the play at Thornhill Secondary School was a highlight of the school year. He was a member of ACTRA and the Canadian Actors Equity, had a long history of stage, radio, and television credits, and has been recognized as a director and writer for the theatre. An avid model railroader he also enjoyed rare plants, classical music, antiques and the peace and tranquility of P.E.I. He excelled in the collection of endless pieces of arcane information upon which he was encyclopedic.
Most of all he loved his immediate family and his extended family of friends, students and fellow teachers. Though he enjoyed a good dramatic production, at his request no funeral will be held. His memory will be honoured with a drama award for post-secondary education for students of Thornhill Secondary School.
