Margaret Rita Wood, 97 of Sydney, passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Miner’s Lane, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ada (O’Brien) McIntyre.
Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart parish, Sydney.
She is survived by daughters, Nora (Mrs. James LeLand), Ottawa, Ont.; Marjorie (Mrs. James Hickey), Kingston, Ont; sons, John, Edmonton, Alta.; George (Florence); Joseph (Mary) MacIntyre, both of Sydney; sister, Annie (Mrs. Dan McEachern), New Waterford; 76 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Burton Wood; son, Francis Jr.; infant daughter, Carol-Ann; brothers, Duncan, John, Joseph, Alex and sister, Sarah.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Wood will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 3-6 p.m. with funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, both in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Rev. Anthony O’Connor officiating. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sydney.
