Passed peacefully away on October 2, 2011 at Bonnews Lodge, Badger’s Quay, NL, Maude Ena King age 90 years of Badger’s Quay. Predeceased by her parents; Martin and Clara Meadus, step-father; Charlie Downer, husband; Hector King, brothers; Fred, Willis, Sylvester, Reginald, George, step-brothers; Cecil, Jack, Dan, Ben, step-sisters; Maggie, Lena, Marjorie and Edith. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are one daughter; Mary (Gladstone Stratton), brother; Martin Meadus (Naomi) of New Perlican, sister Beatrice (Owen Antle) of St. John’s, Grandchildren; Mark Stratton (Rebecca Penton), Gertie Sheppard-Gill (Brent), sister-in-laws Violet Meadus, Doreen Meadus, Gertie Meadus, and a circle of other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held on October 5, at 2p.m. at The United Church, Valleyfield with Rev. Brian Hannon officiating. Interment followed at The United Church Cemetery, Valleyfield. Donations in her memory may be made to Memorial United Church, Valleyfield or the Alzheimer’s Society.
